We sometimes get photos that people have pulled off the web for print jobs.  Typically images on the web are saved at 72 dpi (or they should have been), anything larger than this is not seen on your screen and will slow down the site. Print images on the other hand should be between 300 – 400 dpi.  They want to be twice the size as the screen the printing press is running.  So, if you are on a high end sheet fed that has 200 line screen you want 400 dpi images at 100%. A web press or some other sheet fed might be printing at 175 or 150 so these should be 350 or 300 dpi files.

If you take a 72 dpi file and enlarge it to 350 dpi this is not going to work.  The quality is still going to be fuzzy and grainy.
